Been a while, but the last time I was on it, it beat my fiver nearly to death. If your coming from Portland area, head north to Longview and cross the bridge there.
I lived near Astoria for almost 10 years and drove this route with my TT, along with Hwy 26, many, many times. I would agree going through Longview to I5 is much more practical than taking Hwy 30 all the way into Portland. - jamesuExplorer2 lane, wide shoulders, 55 mph, good highway. Just slow down and do the speed limit through the towns. Have towed it many times. Enjoy.

Hiway 30 between Portland and Astoria is just fine. No problem.
X2. Little twisty when you get closer to Astoria, and be on deer alert. Had one WALK out just East of Astoria. Thankful we were only doing about 30mph.
