- gclossExplorerLiberty Harbor RV in Jersey City is the closest CG to NYC. It is open all year. Just about every CG in the NYC area closes in October.
I work in NYC and did the parade 14years ago when my kids were small and never again. The weather is unpredictable and the crowds are the most you will see in NYC on any given day.
Good luck!!! - NCWriterExplorerThe good thing about high-priced Liberty Harbor (a parking lot campground with W&E hookups plus security, bathrooms/showers and a dump station) is the very short walk to Path train taking you fast to Manhattan with connections to the subway system. (Weekdays you can also use ferries to Wall Street but doubtful they'd operate on holidays.)
So if you like crowds, you could do it fairly easily via public transportation. The Path schedules are available online. - BurbManExplorer II

X2...we went one year when the kids were little and we lived on LI...it was 0* with the wind chill, the only folks that could see were the ones that brought stepladders to sit on. Like being in the top row in the endzone of an NFL game...it's an experience, but if you actually want to see the event, you'll see it better on TV.
Have fun! - 10by32ExplorerThanks for the replies. Sounds like, although it can be done, not many of you are recommending as a fun trip.
