Setting at Mesa Verde campground tonight thinking of heading to Montrose tomorrow on million dollar hwy. Anyone know how the weather is an will I have any problems pulling a 40 ft. toy hauler with a 3500 Gmc diesel?

The subject of the Million Dollar Highway comes up fairly often. While most say they do not recommend it, there are always some who say no problem. Three high passes between Silverton and Ouray, narrow highway, no shoulders, and no guard rails. Google it, read about it, and decide for yourself.

Good post. In another thread concerning that same route, I posted a similar reply and was immediately put down by someone who claimed taking that route was no big deal.

It is a beautiful drive though! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Very curvy road with no guardrails; some folks are frightened by this sort of road. I'm not, but you have to decide if you would be. If you drive this route, take it slow and easy.

I hope you are an experienced mountain driver with your rig on 550. Many of us don't recommend it with ANY RV - do a Search on here for the details as I am not going to go into it again. Just remember, you have no control out of the guy coming the other way taking his half out of the middle.
