New Mexico travel restrictions

Just read about the New Mexico travel restrictions. They want you to quarantine for 14 days and would prefer you NOT to come through the state. I have called a few campgrounds and they seem to think it is ok to come through, spend the night in your camper and then move on. The notice shows that the law can pull you over and ask you or demand you to quarantine if things get much worse. Makes me a little nervous to try and travel through there.

  • Looks like Sonora doesn't want Arizona travelers either :(
  • If passing through, pass on. If returning home or coming for a visit, your first 2 weeks will be less than social.

This is my experience. We arrived today at Raton Pass Campground in New Mexico. We have had reservations here for many weeks. We were met on arrival as we had been advised and escorted to our campsite. No problems, no questions. We will move on to Colorado Springs tomorrow
  • Quarantine doesn't mean you must stop for 2 weeks before continuing. Quarantine means you are responsible to keep your germs to yourself by staying away from others. If passing through, pass on. If returning home or coming for a visit, your first 2 weeks will be less than social.
  • Quarantine does not apply to commercial trucks delivering to essential businesses.
  • The truck stops will get crowded with all the quarantined truckers not allowed to travel.
And the store shelves will be bare.
I can't see NM demanding everyone quarantine and not travel because they enter the state.
