Niland, Ca. to Quartzsite

From Niland SLABS I have usually taken Hwy 111 to hwy 78 from Brawley to Blythe I-10 on to Quartzsite.

I am thinking about spending a night at a RV park in Thermal or somewhere.. shower, dump, water, chg batts etc. before heading on to Q. It's gonna be a problem finding an overnighter RV place in Q or Blythe (any suggestions..?)

So I would be closer if I stayed in Thermal to Indio than Brawley... so was wondering if anyone has taken the shortcut from Meca to I-10 Box Canyon Road?

I have 35' Class A towing a car. it's not really a biggie going on hwy 111 on to Indio and I-10. Just thought Box Canyon might be a pretty drive.

Thanks,

Yes, that is a pretty drive. You won't be breaking any speed records, no cell signals in there, and stay on the road as there are many camp spots with very soft ground.

Then up to I-10 and make a pit stop at Chiriaco pass. There's free overnight camping behind the Patton museum.
  • In Blythe just as you get to the river there is a RV park off to the right of I-10 but Q is only about 40 minutes from there.
