Depending how far south you are you could take 95 around Baltimore and DC outer loops to 66 then 81 to I40.
Or pick up PA I78 to 81. Though you are driving 81 between the mountains you still have hills. I pick up 81 from 66 and have driven I40 for many years now and it's good route.
Lots of truckers at times. Just give them room. All fuel and rest stops are off highway and mostly out of site of the highway exit. There are a few that are not right off the exit so Googling stops before your trip would be helpful.
That allstays app is very handy app to have while traveling.
