Chances are this post will be removed. What does it have to do with Mexico. Nothing. This is about those who are afraid to go to Mexico – or much of anywhere else. We do not know where this fear comes from but it has been mentioned on this forum that some people might consider living in bomb shelters on the chance they might be protected from all things they fear. Here is a company and a place that plays to all those who live in fear. You can now take your RV and hide underground. Many years ago as a trucker I delivered goods to either this place or a place just like it nearby. It is quite an amazing place and I drove a full size semi quite a distance in there. It's called the "pursuit of happiness" and it is a God given inalienable right for all. Not my cup of tea but they probably don't like doing the things I do either. I am just glad we don't have to conform to what someone else thinks is the right way to live.

I wonder if there is a similar "State Department Style" report about travel in the USA or Canada issued for Citizens of Europe ,Australia, etc.

Most of what I have read on this particular report informs Me to use good judgement in choosing the Roads and Routes to take to travel safely from place to place. Good information for sure.

As to traveling in Mexico ,for Us it is Our choice to go there and enjoy the Country,the delightful People and the Warm Winter Weather!

The point of the above quote escapes me. Anyone who is a US Citizen does have the right to do and go as they choose. No one has to go anywhere. We can also choose to be afraid or not to be afraid. It is a choice. If you do not want to go to Mexico there is no reason for you to go. But many posts on this forum come from those who clearly indicate they would not go because they are afraid. A choice. And a Right. But I would think “pursuit of happiness” would mean living free of fear. I personally would not be happy if I were afraid. Again, living in fear is a choice. Whether it be in the US or Mexico – it is a choice. The people who are marketing this idea of living in the world’s largest shelter want to sell to those who choose to live in fear. They will sell you a way to hide from those things you are afraid of (whatever those may be – I do not know). Those of us who travel to Mexico do not choose not to be afraid. It is not a conscious thought. We do not understand those who live in fear. If the US State Department were to rate the US on the same scale they do for other countries I seriously doubt the US would score very high in the ratings. The US has one of the highest crime rates and murder rates in the world. You do not hear of semi-automatic weapons wiping out movie theaters or elementary schools in Mexico. Maybe citizens of the US need a place to hide underground to be safe?

The point is simply everyone decides what they want to do and are free to choose that path without needing my approval, whether travelling in Mexico or hunkering down in a bunker. I doubt they would do it (build shelters) if it did not bring some semblance of security and "happiness" to them. The pursuit of happiness is quite clearly not defined and thus is left to be defined by the pursuer. BTW, we do hear plenty about mass killings in Mexico, maybe not a school, but some serious stuff goes down there too.
