stopping in lake placid( or Saranac lake) for a few days. any suggestions on where to stay that is not too much out of the way

Stay at the North Pole Resorts. Jim and family are friendly, their facilities are clean and they have a well stocked store. Great trout fishing on the Ausable river that flows by the campgrounds.
