old 66

Anyone been on old US66 between Kingman AZ and Oatman AZ lately. I have driven it in my truck several years ago. While it is not a road you want to take a large vehicle on it was passable in a truck or car
  • Just drove over US-66 yesterday from Kingman to Oatman. The surface was good and some of it was resurfaced lately as there was no painted center line
  • As I said I drove it from Kingman in my F-350 several years ago and it was pretty beat up. I also drove it a few times back in the mid 60's in a car. Yea I wouldn't tow anything there but there must have been simi-truck back then and most made it
  • Great day-trip in a car or something smaller than a F550. Very curvy, some corners marked at 15 mph, so it wouldn't be as enjoyable towing or in a large motorhome.
  • Will add that it is not the straightest road in the world.
be careful on the Oatman side as there is mining trucks coming down that grade.
Keep an eye out for oncoming traffic!
  • Good road, I traveled it from Bullhead City to Oatman and on to Kingman this past summer.

    Bill.
  • We were there two years ago and had no problem with route 66. Road was in good shape and quite a few places of interest to stop and see on the route.
