Outer Banks

going to OBX and looking for route suggestions from N.E.Georgia to Grandy NC. staying and camping at Barry's on Walnut Island for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. then moving to to the OBX for 4 nights. no resv. there yet. hope since this would be after Labor Day it will not be a problem. any suggestions on route or areas of construction to avoid. any low overpasses? thanks!

    Can't remember the exact route we've taken but I don't believe there are any low overpasses to worry about. As far as OBX goes after mid-August things quiet down. If you are concerned call a campground or two and see what their bookings look like. If they've got plenty of room then I wouldn't worry. If they are getting close to capacity then you might want to consider a reservation.
