- ependydadExplorerI'm late to the party, but I'm fairly positive that's how we went from Pahrump to Acton, CA. Crew cab/long bed/dually pulling a 42' fifth wheel. No issues- actually was a decent drive.
We stopped at a parking/overnighting area for Dumont Dunes for a lunch break (food in the camper). That area was beautiful.
We stopped at the Dumont Sand Dunes for lunch. I'd love to go back and stay, but there was absolutely no cell service there. - Us_out_WestExplorerThanks for the responses.
Safe travels. - Us_out_WestExplorer

Travel it at least once every 1-2 months. As others have stated, you won't win any speed races. Not a lot of traffic until you hit I15 at Baker, then the NASCAR races start. I am assuming you will be taking Hwy 58 to Bakersfield? Not a bad road, just a lot of 18 wheel traffic. BTW, I live in Pahrump.
Thanks...wanted a way other than going back thru Vegas.
We typically use 58 on the way and back from AZ so familiar. - TexasShadowExplorer IIwhen we were there last month, we were told that 178 was blocked by mudslides down on the south end, so be sure and ask at the visitor center. otherwise, 127 is ok. it will get you there.

- bdpreeceExplorer IIWe probably take it at least once a year. Good two lane road. You won't set any speed records but not a bad drive.
- hotpepperkidExplorerAlthough its been a number of years but its an OK road. Two lane but so what
