Pahrump NV to Barstow CA

Currently in Pahrump, and rather than go back 160 to Vegas, it looks like 372/178 to 127 to Baker and I-15 is the best way to get to Barstow and points west in CA. I did a search on the forum, and the few older comments on this road say it is a good road. Anyone use this road recently or familiar with the route?

    Wave your hands so I can see you. I live about 2 miles from Lakeside. I drive that route to go to San Diego. As someone already stated, not need to go back thru Vegas.

    Thanks for the replies. Always best to get current information to avoid surprises. Currently sitting in Pahrump at Lakeside Casino & RV Park and looking out at the fountains on the lake. Ducks came by to check out our rv this morning. What a great spot.

    You should be fine. Big holiday weekends there is alot of traffic going in and out of Dumont Dunes on the 127. Good, open truck stop for fuel in Baker on the west end of town. The Mad Greeks for a strawberry shake is also good. Shoshone has some interesting features, but don't blink, you'll miss it.
