Parks Highway Igloo is for sale

Was just reading in the Anchorage Daily News that the Igloo, up at mile 188 of the Parks is for sale, again. This is one of those ideas, that was built but never finished or put into any real use. It Was built, as I remember, a few years after the Parks Hwy was finished. But as I remember, it couldn't pass fire code at that time, to be used as a hotel, due to the urethane sprayed on outer covering, which is flamable.

Over the years, I have been in the structure a few times, one summer the owner tried to run a small gift shop and gas station office out of there. Fuel sales were done, with one of the previous owners, not the current one, but used a small shed type building close to the pumps as the office. Just glad someone owns it and keeps it up to some degree.
