I hope that was not sarcasm, because I do not appreciate it if so. We hire a guard in situations like this, as we did last time we used that park. Safety is our primary concern.

In November, at the Los Mochis park, there was a night watchman all night, sitting in a van by the entrance, watching television.

There was functional wifi if you sat at the restroom building. I didn't look, but friends said the restrooms were gross.

At La Pelerica in 2005 we stopped overninght, tipping the watchman when he rode over on his bicycle. The next morning we found one of our two bicycles missing, not a big blow to us at all. We were hoping someone's son would be the recipient, they could have taken both. Our traveling companion had left a key outside in his door, of course, not a problem. But someone had been checking us out pretty closely.

When we began driving south, always using Los Mochis as a stopping point, we understood there to be two RV parks but one was said to have closed without us ever finding it; the one we visited two or three times had the chickens nearby and had a tricky exit if going south. But the last time we visited, possibly in 2004, there was nearly a foot of water covering the entire lot, with water still bubbling up into the lot. Lots of rigs were still there, owners off perhaps on the rail trip to Creel. It looked like some would be taking on water, and we got out of there as fast as we could, never to return.

As RV travel really tapered off after 2008, we stopped at La Pilarica. Trucks were everywhere, it was jammed packed. But not one other RV; there had always been others there in the past. Next to us in a sleeper semi, things were getting rowdy. We opted not to leave our rig for our usual visit to the cafe, and as darkness fell it got noisier next to us. This was too much, and despite never driving at night, we pulled out and drove to the next Pemex down the road, for a quiet sleep. One of only two times in 20,000 miles driving in Mexico when we drove at night, when we felt vulnerable and uncomfortable. The other when stopped over night, heading towards the Texas border at Piedro Negras. Yes, that was another Pemex.

Believe me Marv I read him the riot act! We stayed there 4 or 5 years ago and said not again Personally I wish there was a Decent RV park inLos Mochis that is our usual stop. After telling him all the negatives about his park he excepted the criticism and said he would work on making it better. Time will tell, but until I hear good reports I will not stay there again.

I also want to support the RV parks but why stay in a park that is not safe? There have been lots of thefts at the Los Mochis park and there is no night watchman. If the owner wants tenants he should get off his butt and improve that dump. It has been dumpy for over 10 years.

We stayed at the Los Mochis park on the way south in November, our first time there, and did OK. Just OK. On the way north, we'll have a puppy, and I'll need a secure place to get up and pee her at 2am. I'm leaning toward the Pemex on the east side, northbound. We stayed there a few years ago and did just fine, and it wasn't 300p for a dump of a park.

We believe in supporting RV parks whenever we can, and if we do stay at the Pemex, it will be the only one this year. Hate parks the gouge.

This one is up for sale and we have had many thefts in it. They also did not cut the grass in Fall and I did $1000 damage to my rig on a hidden obstacle in it. Not the sort of park I care to support.

Thanks for supporting the few RV parks in Mexico!

We support every RV park or campground we possibly can but some are just too far gone to even consider. We stayed in the one in Los Mochis years ago and it was a nightmare - the worst - impossible - they pack about 3 caravans into an area not large enough for one caravan. No electric - no water. So now we go 4 miles further south to the very nice truck stop Pemex that is nice and clean and quiet. We do not go to the ones close in to town. I think the post above said it is 4925 and that sounds correct. I posted the Lat Lon previously. Easy in easy out no turns right on highway.
