Then she probably won't like I-70 either! :) - BusskipperExplorerI must have something wrong with ME.
I have NEVER RECOMMENDED I-80 - might just be the most boring drive I can remember, not to mention - Truck traffic and BORING.
There are many ways to get to Denver - your Route works - Is an Intersting drive and has lots of opportunities for your imagination to explore along the way.
Sorry guys but I-80, come on...... - IMHO, does not work especially on an RV web site.
Sorry,
JMHO, - Grey_MountainExplorerI have taken I-80 numerous times. Looking for something a bit different but need to avoid areas with steep dropoffs. Wife no likey.
GM - FirstTracksExplorerAll good advice. US-6 is the kind of highway that will let you drive as fast as your desire and traffic will allow, especially the stretch from Price to Green River. I-70 is a beautiful but twisty and hilly drive to Denver. For a less intense drive I prefer I-80. There latter is faster, too, despite the longer distance.

Contemplating a different route. What is US Hwy 6 from Provo to Green River like? Then I-70 from Green River to Denver.
Thank you.

Decent road with passing lanes. Keep speed to posted signs (yellow signs are accurate). Steep grade going into Price -- just take it easy and don't let the semi trucks push you. From Price to Green River and Green River to Colorado it can get windy if bad weather is going on. - Thom02099Explorer IIAnother option would be to bypass I-70 altogether.
Take US 40 through Utah into Colorado, through Craig and Steamboat Springs, to CO 14 in the Rabbit Ears/Muddy Pass area. Take CO 14 across North Park into Walden and on to Gould, up and over Cameron Pass and continue down through Poudre Canyon. CO 14 exits the canyon at US 287 north of Fort Collins, and you can take it to I-25 south to Denver.
This is a beautiful drive, and shows the diversity of northern Colorado, some of the unspoiled areas that are still a part of Colorado and what makes it special. - BusskipperExplorer

RT 6 is Great - Then catch Moab and RT 128 - a must if you are that close - perfect for a drive through. Another suggestion is to Jump off at Minturn and Take RT 24 to Leadville then RT 91 back to Silverthorne and I-70. Beautiful Drive, I always try to do if doing I-70 East to West or vise versa.
Last must do is to get off of I-70 at Idaho Springs - Left hand exit (244) to RT 6 - follows Clear Creek into Golden then Rt 58 will connect with I-70 into Denver - Easy drive -avoids the heavy traffic that comes into Denver from the Mountains. (Beautiful Drive)
Last but not least is the RT 40 Option through Craig and Steamboat, over Berthoud Pass - then back to I-70.
Hope this helps,
