- TerryallanExplorer II126 is at the top of the hill, right near the tree line. Just above the newest bath house. there is a swing in the grassy area across from you.
And 16 is the best, I thought the only way from Wilksboro. It's only steep, and twisty near the top. But the speed limit drops to 35, and 25 there. We usually get off at the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance, Drive North to the General Store on left. Turn there and go back to 16. Maybe 100 yards. Turn right, and take the next right. And you are there. There is a entrance to Raccoone Holler from the BRP. But there is no sign from the South side, and it's hid behind a tree.
It is cool up there year round. Take a sweater, and blankets. - P3TCExplorer

- P3TCExplorerDont know that site...but we loved the campground.
Stayed there for 2 years seasonally (April thru Oct).
Decided to build a house about a mile away.
People are great, owners nice too.
Enjoy!
When will you be there?
Bill - zackyboy3rsExplorerHow is this campground? Site 126 I think.
- zackyboy3rsExplorerThanks
- P3TCExplorerNot easy, steep in places and curvy..but you can take your time with
your rig and be fine.
Passing zones will allow 4 wheelers to pass you regularly.
Lots of RVs use 16 regularly without a problem...me too!
Bill - zackyboy3rsExplorerEasy road?
- P3TCExplorerYep, 18 miles up rt 16, make a right at the sign when you exit Glendale Springs on 16.
