rancho calif

we were just recently in skinner lake in temecula and wondered about rancho california rd. we saw RVers going the opposite way of the 15 - is this road a short cut to desert hot springs/ the 10? the map shows it goes through the san jacinto mtns. how is this road? looking for country roads to avoid the so. cal freeways.

    They were probably going east to Sage Rd then north into Hemet...pick up the 79 out of Hemet.

    You could go east an pick up the 371 then over to the 74 and take that into Palms Springs......that section of 74 thru the mtns is interesting

    If you are looking for a way to I 10 from Temecula I wouldn't go up through the San Jacinto mts. unless you are looking for some adventure. You can take the I 215 to hwy. 74 through Hemet to 79 to I 10 that route is very easy.
