Road to Tuk

Looks like there will be a new road to Tuk from Univik built in the next couple of years, another adventure road to travel on!

Unfortunately I can't make the link to the Globe and Mail work, you can find the article on the Globe and Mail website by searching on the word "Tuk"

    Very cool news - it's been a long time coming, and it will be quite the engineering feat to construct & maintain a road like this. I've always dreamed of making the trip to Tuk, and for me this means it might be a little easier dream to accomplish.

    Good news for future travelers. Flew there on a one day tour and came home with a couple of carving from artist's kitchen table!! Very interesting place. Sure hope the road does not harm the local customs too much Now too old to think about a return trip but sure would like to!

    BUT - hope the casual reader does not mistake Tuk (Tuktoyaktut in NWT) for Tok (in Alaska)!!!
