Route 11 Pennsylvania
I absolutely hate rte 81 through PA on my way north to NY. I recently did it and the truck traffic is ridiculous. But even worst than that is the condition of the road. I can only imagine what is happ...

I ran route 11 as an alternative to 81. No worse than any two lane black top. Lots of towns and reduced speeds. and you know Pennsylvania, been no road alignment since 1786,so you have no shoulders sharp turns and no building setback.
However if you hate interstates as I do and you are patient driver,it is a good drive.
