Hello,

Wife & I are planning a trip starting from Western NC and ending in the Denver area. We will be traveling in a 24' class C and love to travel scenic highways and boon dock whenever possible. Also love state and federal parks. Would like to use interstates only when necessary. Have about 3-4 weeks to get there.

Looking for recommended routes preferably through TN,ARK,OK,etc. Any thoughts or ideas from experienced travelers would be appreciated. We have RV'd quite a bit over the years so we are not noobs.

Will probably return home through NM - then east. Want to definitly see Sante Fe.

Thank you for any & all suggestions.

For a more southern route, US-70 across Tennessee roughly parallels I-40 to Memphis and on to Little Rock. An alternative is to pickup US-64 after entering Arkansas - you can take it all the way to Raton, New Mexico (or Taos) or further. It intersects with US-54 north of Amarillo.

Thank you Trailertraveler for those suggestions. Am wondering if someone has found a good book that they recommend for using scenic highways & byways to plan their trips as well?

From Hannibal, MO US-36 will take you to I-70 just East of Denver. Combinations of US-50,54 and 400 will take you through MO and Kansas to Pueblo, CO. US-60 will take you through Northern Oklahoma and the Texas Pan Handle into New Mexico.
Safe travels!
