RV bodywork repair

I am in Punta Cerritos RV Park in Mazatlan and am looking for a repairman for bodywork and paint. My coach is a 95 Barth all aluminum and I damaged a cargo door quite well and bowed a rear panel somewhat. It is Carnaval here this week and having trouble contacting anyone Any suggestions by any member who has had work done in this city?
Thank you in advance, Neil
  • Thank you Rainbird for the lead. Ended up finding someone, through the Park manager, who has done a lot of bodywork and painting around the park. He has been excellent so far and will be painting today

Almot....RV has flat aluminum sheeting, not corrugated. He only had to replace the cargo door facing and was able to repair the rest and refasten with rivets to match

thanks again all... hope to hit the road North on the weekend

If that "somewhat bowed" panel needs a replacement, it has to be a sheet of exactly same pattern, and with the S-lock on the upper edge. These corrugated aluminum sheets are normally 2 or 3 ft wide, and can be 10 or 15 ft long. In big cities NOB you won't normally find more than a couple of shops with such a supply within 50 miles radius, this isn't something that an autobody shop would carry. A body shop could try and straighten it instead of replacing, but when somewhat straightened, it may still look somewhat damaged.

Storage lid is a trifle for anybody who knows fiberglass works.

The entire coach fiberglass laminate siding can be repaired in any boating shop, but damaged corrugated aluminum sheets need to be replaced with sheets of the same pattern, this is the only way to restore the original looks. Not that I care for looks when trailer is old.

  • Look for Juan Salizar Jr. He has a shop in Maz, you won't fit in it but he does excellent work in some of the RV Parks. I know we will work in San Fernando.

He is highly skilled and a real artist. I may have his phone number here somewhere. He speaks good English, though many of his staff do not.

I'll post the number when I find it
