Passport cards allow you to use the Ready Lane. This makes things faster. We are in the process of renewing our passports, and for only $30 more, you can get a Passport Card, also good for 10 years. For us, it's a no brainer-when walking across at Tijuana, you get to go to the head of the line, and if we ever drive across at other than Lukeville, we can use the Ready Lane. It's the only one of the "enhanced" border crossing cards that you don't have to make an appointment somewhere and have an interview and get fingerprinted. Easy.
