smoooothest road surface Portland OR to Dallas TX

Advice welcome on smoothest right lane road surface from Portland OR to Dallas TX. Going the opposite direction on I-40 through NM and AZ was like riding in a paint shaker at the hardware store. Parts of my "toy" were on the trailer floor by the time I got to Portland.

Possibilities:
I-5, I-10 & I-20;

I-84, I-80, I-25, US87 and US287;

I-84, I-90, I-29 or I-35;

I-84, I-90, I-94 & I-35.

Despite being much longer, I'm leaning toward going all the way to Minneapolis and then straight down I-35 to Dallas, because it is probably has the least number of steep hills. I think the route through California and across I-10 may be lower elevations, but more up and down than across the north. Most critical factor is smoothest right lane road surfaces. Cannot tolerate I-40 again.
thanks!!!
  • Good luck!
    why not get off interstates that are beat to death by trucks?
  • If someone with knowledge of a smoother non-interestate route would like to suggest an alternate route, or even which stretches of interstate to avoid, I'm all ears. All I know is I-40 is not an option.
  • Youn would use interstates in some places.
    US 26, US 93, US 50, US 64, and US 287 would be some of the federal highways.
    There is benefits to using some as speeds are slower saving fuel.
