State Route 95 from Las Vegas to Mcdermitt Ore.

We are planning to traved the west side of Nevada driving Route 95 Our trip into Nevada will begin at Primm and take us up to McDermitt Oregon. We have never traveled Route 95 and would like to know the conditions of the road along this route. We will be pulling a 5th wheel 40' in length. Should we have concerrns with this road such as condition of the road , construction etc.
If you have traveled this route and or familiar with it ,I would greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts and opinions.

    Check the NDOT site link
I haven't traveled 95 in years but my neighbor did it a lot with a 38'
    MH and a tow.
  • I have been on US95 from Vegas to I-80 a few times. It's been 5 years ago but that section was just fine.
  • It's a good highway. I used to love to stop in Goldfield, NV at the Mizpah Hotel and enjoy a beefsteak that flopped over the edges of the sizzling platter. Cops are touchy in Tonopah, Yerington and Fallon about staying in right lane and not speeding. Not speed traps but I drive carefully. Nevada Highway Patrol touchy about "Mountain Driving (their description, not mine". Cheating on curves and allowing tires to touch centerline.
  • We travel it frequently. Lots of people in fast cars and many big semis in a big hurry, too. Many almost ghost towns along the way including Luning and Mina. Hawthorne is prosperous due to military. Walker Lake is beautiful. We camp there. Our sig photo is a Walker Lake. Cheap or free.
  • very good road but watch your speed going through the towns as they love the tourist money.
  • Nice road. Agree about the Mizpah Hotel steaks. Also check out Death Valley Nut & Candy in Beatty. The drinks are too expensive, but everything else is a decent price and the place is an oddball attraction.
