- robatthelakeExplorerAnother bit of information about Tacho's RV Park! They are now a Good Sam Park and although they have NOT Displayed any signage to that effect will honor the usual Good Sam Discount of 10% if You are persistent!
We recently stayed 12 Nights for the price of Ten, but were asked not to tell any of the existing guests for fear of an insurrection! - iguana07Explorer IIThe rumor when we left LDM was that Juan owner of La Parrota has booked 23 sites for a FC caravan for next year.
- TequilaExplorerThe owner of the large French Canadian caravan who fill much of tachos each season is going around lo de Marcos & Melaque looking for parks to tie up for next season. I know the owner at La Parota refused them.

- Talleyho69ModeratorWe first stayed at Tacho's in 1985. It was hugely expensive, and because we were in a tent at that time, we were sent to the back-where the pigs were in pens and there was an abandoned airplane. Didn't stay there again.
We are regulars at Mario's place, (more about this later) Puerto Vallarta Trailer Park. Pricey, but the weekly rate is tolerable enough to stop and see friends. - iguana07Explorer IIBad experience in Tachos, the tenants are not friendly at all!
In LDM the Municipality is raising taxes on the RV parks every year, this year they were told they would have to put meters on their wells, because they cannot find any permits for the owners to have built their wells. They are disputing the hike in taxes which seem to be a yearly thing, not sure what is going to happen with the water meter. I know their profit margin is very minimal. Have not raised rates since we have been staying there since 2008. - moishehExplorerTachos is one of those old parks that were glorious in their day. But that was in the 60's/70's. We like staying there because of the location. If you are not French and don't play volleyball don't bother. Raising the rates because the Peso has fallen is a horrible business practice. GREED!
Moisheh - Talleyho69ModeratorCampland on the Bay in San Diego has a "Super Site" that runs $417 per night during the summer. That's US dollars...... Up to 4 people, more people, higher price.
- tony_leeExplorerPost elsewhere on the most expensive RV park in the USA (and therefore the world) had one night at about $500 so Mexico has a way to go yet.
- qtla9111NomadSounds like rv parks in the U.S. No wonder more people are boondocking. With better solar technology, problems with power in rv parks on both sides, why even bother.
They are pricing themselves out of the market but then again, there is a customer for everything.
