We are coming out of Texas from Big Bend National Park via Alamogordo and Carlsbad area.
I would board my dog in a good kennel in Texas and just fly to Portland.
That would be an option but my wife would have a heart attack if I suggested boarding for a month.:)
I guess that boarding the dog with your wife in Texas and then you flying to Portland would be out of the question:):)
That would be a better option. Especially since she doesn't fly. Had a bad experience as a teenager.:)
