Looks like things are going bad to worse around the Banff area. The images being posted on facebook and twitter make it look bad.Highway 93 is closed between Lake Louise and Saskatchewan River Crossing, meaning no one is getting between Banff & Jasper today.If you're in Banff, you're not getting to B.C. this afternoon. Canmore has declared a state of emergency.RVers/campers are being moved by Parks staff too.The following update from Global NewsA number of highways in the mountain national parks are closed due to heavy precipitation causing flooding and mudslides.Trans-Canada Highway—both directions at Carrot Creek, located just inside the Banff East Gate. Engineers are assessing bridge safety.The Trans-Canada Highway—west-bound at the Norquay interchange. Crews and additional equipment are removing debris from the highway.Highway 93S—the Banff-Radium Highway—from Castle Junction to Radium.Highway 93N (the Icefields Parkway)—from Lake Louise to Saskatchewan Crossing.Given persistent rain, there is no estimated time of road reopening at any of the aforementioned locations.As a precautionary measure, Parks Canada staff are moving campers at Two Jack Lakeside Campground to higher ground at Tunnel Mountain Campground.There are no reports of injuries.

The TransCanada through Banff and Canmore is now open, with 2 lanes, 60km/hr speeds and active construction.

Yes, but it seems to have stalled because the local weather forecast was that it would be on its way out before today (Friday) late AM. Well, we are living here 45 NW of Calgary at 10AM and the rain is still very steady with no sign of stopping.

The Bow River flows to the South Saskatchewan River ... hopefully the water levels ease as this surge heads east!

Our kids live on top of the hill in Cochrane, so they are ok, but all around them is flooded. Other Son in-law is driving home from Calgary right now as there is only one hwy open with only one lane to get back to southern BC were we are. Man has it every raided around here!
