Travel to Halifax

We are new to full timing, but have been camping for years. In Maine and planning a trip to Halifax. First question as a Verizon customer do I need to make any changes to send receive phone calls and data? Second question, I have a Concealed Carry permit with a gun in the RV. I understand the Canadians have serious problems with bringing guns into their country. What arrangements can be made for a two week stay in Canada? Thanks for the responses!
  • Find a gun shop or range that will store it for you.

    Leave it in the USA.
  • You can add Canada service to your Verizon for the time you need it, at a reasonable cost. Do it online.

If you do just head to Canada with your Verizon without adding the service, don't use data. The charges are outrageous.

Your CCW has no validity whatsoever in Canada. You simply cannot take your guns there with you.

No we don't have Serious Problems in Canada, just with certain weapons such as concealed handguns and automatic guns. Many Americans come hunting in Canada with no problems with the right paperwork.
  • I would not attempt to bring the gun into CA. We crossed the border recently en route to Montreal, and the agent asked only about liquor (gave him a verbal tally) and firearms (none with us). We answered honestly. He then said, "Do you carry in Florida?" Definitely high on their radar screen, so be prepared with honest answers to whatever is asked.
