Trip Report - Vermont Foliage Journey

Mrs. S. and I just returned from a glorious 5-night tour of VT. The foliage is in full color right now, so it was really a successful trip. I'll be posting blog entries about each day on continualsunsets.wordpress.com.

Here is the first day.

I hope you enjoy reading about our adventure!

  • I appreciate all of you who have been dropping by to read my blog.

Day #5 is posted. Mostly it's about stuff in and around Bennington.

  • Escorted an oversize load up route 7, last Thursday, from Bennington, VT to Brandon, VT and the colors were beautiful. This coming weekend will be the last good one until next year.
  • Colors in MA are muted as I expected. ME and NH colors are spectacular in most areas. Have been up to both states over the past week.
  • Day #3 is hot off the press. (Stowe Foliage Arts Festival; Cold Hollow Cider Mill)

Anyone remember the very old children's book - Homer Price? Remember the donut machine that went out of control? Yeah. Have a look at today's adventures.

  • Colors are really good in NH, too, despite the dry conditions. Just past peak from the notches north, at peak in the Lakes Region, near peak towards the seacoast. ST
  • Old Biscuit - We were married 50 years ago and immediately I changed jobs so we could move to Vermont. Commenting on your blog post quoting Cheryl: We also have never seen the colors as brilliant as this year! Last week we drove from Bar Harbor to Montpelier, and the colors were brilliant all the way across northern New England and continue spectacular.

    Ah memories!

When we were FT one of our adventures was following the fall colors

We started in upper NY State and then followed the changes south to GA for the next 6 weeks

    Postcards/pictures don't do it justice

Wow, Old-Biscuit, that must have been an awesome trip! What a great concept!

Here's the blog for Day #2 of our Vermont adventure. A visit to a granite quarry and to a maple sugar farm.
