The lane closures near the summit have been in effect for sometime, and don't require a detour or delays. But for a week earlier this month there was a complete closure in Tumwater Canyon, that required a detour on a road that was not suitable for trucks. This project is now completed.

I was referring to the road closure which forced you to turn north toward Lake Wenatchee and then take the Chumstick Highway south of Plain into Leavenworth. I'm glad that job's done. Thanks for the info Paulj. The construction near the summit is ongoing and I'm sure will be so for a long time.

Being a retired teacher it's a blessing to be able to go to Confluence SP when school is in session. Probably my favorite WA SP as well.

DOT is still working on the roadway in and around the new US-2 bridges leading into Tumwater Canyon from the west, and It's passable. We did it today and made it to Confluence SP.
