US 4 in Vermont

Starting to plan our trip for the summer. Our travels look like they will take us to Lake George,NY area and then heading to the coast. How is US 4 going from NY to I 89 ? We are in a 43ft MH towing a truck, so we are 65' long. Thanks
  • You should not have any trouble. This is one of the major east/west routes and is used by semi trucks, etc. regularly. Of course, it's not as flat or straight as many roads in Florida or Kansas, but that's true of basically any road in New England.
  • Route 4 past Rutland takes you past Killington Ski Resort pretty steep going up and down beautiful views though.
  • US 4 was our route across Vermont a few years ago, pulling a 34' fifth-wheel. We had no difficulty at all and enjoyed the drive. Stopped for lunch at Quechee Gorge. Beautiful area. We were on our way to Maine.
