Why won't the borders allow rvs across?

When you are talking about some thing like border crossing the rules and regulations must be a ‘one size fits all’ type of arrangement. They cannot say blue cars can cross and red cars cannot.

Likewise they cannot say pickups can cross but only if they are towing an RV.

Understand. the gov isn't really following the science. They pick and choose what they want to happen. Notice tens of thousands of illegal aliens cross, and are shipped all over the country. But you can't drive your RV across. You alone in your RV are too much of a hazzard.

Two days ago, I phoned CBP and had a bit of a conversation with a supervisor (I was seeking info on flying from Canada to the U.S.). Of interest (to me at least), he advised that, regarding virus/quarantine/vaccination issues for flyers, CBP has washed it's hands and to them it is as if the Pandemic was non-existent. They only deal with those issues they have always dealt with and all the other stuff is left to the airlines.

Of interest to this conversation though, when I asked the logic behind allowing air but not land entry, he laughed and said all rules and regulations related to the virus, on who can/cannot cross the border is decided at the top level(s) in Washington, on direction from the POTUS, and is all political, and he couldn't understand any of it.

I would suggest RVs, or whatever the type of land travel (for non-essential) was never even considered.

And if many U.S. border states/communities/politicians who want/rely on land travel from Canada, have failed at changing the regulations, I doubt your petition would have any luck.

Point Roberts is a small U/S peninsula south of B.C that has no land access from continental U.S. and can't be accessed by vehicle without driving from Canada. Because it relied largely on Canadians to support it's small businesses and continental U.S. citizens can't get to it by driving, it has literally been abandoned. They can't even solve that conundrum.

You are trying to apply reason and rational thinking to government operations. You should know better than that.

Pardon me for introducing logic into this mess, but you’re saying the US government is actively allowing illegal immigrants free passage to drive over the border now?

Unless you have first hand knowledge to the contrary, Point Roberts is in no different situation than the State of Alaska.

Transiting Canada to travel between landlocked areas is, and always has been permitted.

and some people just don't think a closed border applies to them

Personalized decisions at the border would take weeks of waiting in a line…weeks! I’ll vote for Rexlion for special treatment too.
