Wildfires in Canada - haze in Colorado
We have slightly hazy skies and the smell of smoke in the Denver area today. But, unusual for this time of year, there are no major wildfires in our area right now--too much rain this spring.
The news says the haze is due to fires west of Great Slave Lake in Canada. The smoke hit Montana several days ago and apparently is drifting southeast along the mountain front. We are more than ~1,000 miles from the northern border of Alberta, so there must really be some big fires up there.
What is it like in northern Alberta and BC? Is it affecting traffic on the Alaska Highway? How about the Yukon? Maybe Sue T. can provide an update.
