1st Snow Bird Trip-need suggestions for S.C.

James Island in Charleston gets my vote. Beautiful park, easy access to the city too. Charleston gives you a lot of options as well. Folly Beach is a short drive for a nice little beach town. Mount Pleasant is a nice little beach community, without the beach town feel. Charleston is a beautiful city as well.

Savannah is a short drive south.
Hilton Head is an even shorter drive south.
Myrtle Beach is a 2 hour drive north.

One other suggestion might be to stay for a month at Myrtle, stay for a month at Charleston, stay for a month at Jekyll Island. Plenty of time to see the sites and go for rides, then find a new location and new sites.

Willow Tree is very nice but pricey. We stayed at several SC state parks. 4 years ago over Christmas, we stayed at Huntington Beach SP. It was $18 a night for water and electric. Very nice park. Not sure what they are now.

We stay at Willowtree RV Resort. It is very nice with pool hot tub fishing etc. We have NOT been there in January or February.

They are located in Longs Off of Route 9. (Not on the beach)

A 90 day stay is $1462 cash price and $1552 credit card price. It is very well maintained and quiet. I also do not know what thier policy is regarding motorcycles.

It's not a ridiculous policy. No one wants to hear a bunch of loud Harleys' fire up their bikes day in and day out in the CG driving around and going in and out all day. They also do this to prevent bike week bikers from staying there. Just leave it at the front parking lot and drive your golf cart/car to retrieve it when you want and leave the CG. There is a reason for the policy and it makes sense.

If you want a decent place with no frills that is not expensive near Savannah check out Hardeeville RV Park. 15 minutes from Savannah, half hour to Hilton head or Beaufort and 90 minutes to Charleston. A lot of people winter there.
I stayed there when relocating back to the area. Monthly rate then was 325.00 with metered electric, free cable and Wi-Fi.

State Parks can get kind of pricey for that long a stay as opposed to monthly at commercial parks. Just looked at Hunting Island for 2 weeks in Jan, $476. That said, we liked Hunting Isl, Skidaway Isl just over the line in GA, and James Island County Park outside Charleston. James Isl is a wonderful CG, but even more $, if it's not to much try it for a few days if you can get a spot.

There's some nice SP's up by Anderson too, and some good restaurants. Do check RVparkreviews.

Dont limit yourself to SC. Savannah Ga area is gorgeous too. And if possible, be there on New Years eve. Their riverfront celebration is great.
