Might retire by next winter and thinking of snowbirding from around mid January to mid March. We are looking at Ocala Sun Resort in Ocala Fl or Olde Mill Stream in Umatilla Fl. Does anyone have any experience with either park? Or any suggestions for other parks in the general area? Thanks in advance for any input.

You will get back at us this summer when you spend your US $'s north of the border and we can't get into our campsites for all the American visitors.

As flip as it may have been, I think you're kinda proving his point to a certain degree. Doubt if many north of the border would enjoy seeing loved premium priced family cabins on great fishing lakes being bought up now with the stronger US dollar.
Duh! Like that hasn't been going on forever.

REALLY???? that's pretty flip considering we are responsible for over 15 billion sheckles of owned property...

As flip as it may have been, I think you're kinda proving his point to a certain degree. Doubt if many north of the border would enjoy seeing loved premium priced family cabins on great fishing lakes being bought up now with the stronger US dollar. It was just a few years ago the roles were reversed as I remember, which might explain all those sheckles you're talking about and how thankful we should be for them.

To the OP, We drove thru Old Mille a few times and thought it was a nice park. It seemed a little far from town for us. We picked Woods-N-Waters instead. Surrounding area may have gone down hill since we were there, since it was on the edge then.

REALLY???? that's pretty flip considering we are responsible for over 15 billion sheckles of owned property and untold jobs in the great stae of Florida also there is NO shortage of RV sites down here, believe you me,,,geeze! Might wanna' look at Deer Creek click, nice place at a fair price, all the amenities, good people, far enough south.

We are at the Older Mill in Umatilla and it is everything they advertise and more. The problem you will have is that there is a waiting list to get in, but it is worth the try to get on the list and keep checking to see if cancellations. When you come down the first time even if you don't get in then you should come and take their tour. They are adding more sites and we loose people all the time for one reason or another. The sites here are larger than most places and you are welcomed by all. As Dream Chaser said they are pushing for all six by six, but with that said you will not find a better park for the price.
Have Fiver will travel with little or no notice at all. I do need to stop at rest areas now and then:)

The sites in Ocala Sun are tight and unless you get a pull-thru there are short. Not recommended for a big rig. Free Wifi is probably as good you can get in a CG. Free cable tv with about 70 channels. No shade, grass sites and no patios. Shopping is close by. Small clubhouse and not a lot of planned activities. Price is reasonable -- $505 for first 2 months then down to $471. Lots of permanent rigs but very few park models.

Park is pretty well full but you can be put on a waiting list. They are not taking reservation until first of June.

We are presently in Olde Mill Stream and it is a beautiful park with lots going for it. Lots of activities every day. Mostly large grass sites with huge patio. Lots of rules that are strictly enforced. Pet and no pet areas. No dogs over 40 lbs. Paid cable tv - expensive. Complimentary wifi is being discontinued at end of this season. Old part of resort is all shade, very little grass and is mainly seasonal park models. No shade in new part. Lots of shopping nearby.

Price is going to $700 a month next year. Short term reservations will probably be non-existent as they are really pushing for extended stays of 4 months or more and are giving preference to 6+6 residents. Large waiting list for pet area. Reservations start first part of March.

All in all it is a beautiful park but -------

Hope this helps

We were here seven years ago...

It was under renovations and has since tripled in size.
It's a little out of the way, otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at the Ocala Sun Jan-Mar of 2013. It is a nice park, gated at night. Owners are nice, lots of snowbirds there. You may want to call now for availability, probably full already.
