We are about 2 miles off of Fort Myers beach this year at Gulf Water Resort at just under $1,600 a month, but that includes all taxes and utilities. The sites are at least 40'x 120', some larger.

We did a winter in Texas, actually South Padre Island. For us the winters in Texas had some plus side, like less traffic and much cheaper prices than Florida. The only real negative, which also was the deciding factor, just wasn't warm enough.
I just enjoy 70's and 80's too much from December through March to be anywhere else.
