Lot of cooler (cold) weather last year in most snowbird locations last year.

Not to get away from Alabama but we were in Amado, AZ (about 30 miles N of Nogales, Mexico) last winter and woke up one morning to 13 degrees.

Snowbirds were really whining!! :B

I have friends that stay in Gulf Shores, one for about 4 months during the winter. They both stay in condos, not RVs. Neither are really outdoors type people anyway and just deal with the cool weather. Both said they were disappointed last winter due to the rainy weather.

In January, Gulf State Park will be full of snowbirds--including us. You can put your name on a waiting list and have to wait 4-5 days for something to open up.

Stayed in Gulf Shores in February. Rain- rain- rain....

Won't be back.
At least in Florida it rains and an hour later it's dry.
Back to North Ft. Myers this winter.
Happy trails,

We stumbled upon coastal Alabama while visiting my son stationed in Biloxi. We were going to Destin over spring break, but he warned me that it would be nuts. Our 1 week delay there turned into 6. Absolutely loved it. We never got far from Foley, but moved around to different parks, just because. We stayed at Lake Osprey RV Resort, Magnolia RV park, Anchors Away, and Gulf State Park. All very different. All great. I reviewed all at rvparkreviews. We arrived at Gulf State Park just as the snowbirds started vacating sites. At that time, there were already 90 people on the waiting list for this winter. There's an awesome biking/hiking trail accessible from both the park and the surrounding towns. It was a great area. Temperatures were mild. Lots of rain about twice a week. Lots of wind at times. The night before we arrived at GSP, a straight line wind took the entire top section off of a brand new tent trailer!
