Amish in Union Grove, NC

When we saw this article, we took a trip to visit their stores. Small community, delicious ice cream, good value on their products, and a friendly people. NOTE: do drive carefully and slowly as these Amish drive horse and buggies. As many have heard, there's a problem with careless drivers hitting and killing the Amish and their horses.

  • We stopped at an Amish farm in Michigan to buy cookies for my husband this morning. A real Amish store to stop at, for the local Amish, not the tourists
  • Our seasonal campsite is about 15 minutes from 2 different Amish Farm markets. We aren't in Amish country, Lancaster, PA is about 90 minutes away, but we still enjoy the markets.

  • Pretty cool...right up the road from us...never knew it was there...will have to check it out.
  • Will have to put Arcola on our list, thanks for the tip. We like visiting the smaller communities of Amish & Mennonites because there is less traffic and tourist crowds.

Unity, Maine is another Old Order Amish settlement.
  • Will keep that area in mind. We have visited Amish Country here in IL -- Arcola, IL. Great stores and products like in NC. Rockhome gardens is also a great place to visit in Arcola.
