I can't believe that place is even open in the winter. We used to own a house there and it regularly gets down to -20F and sometimes down to -30F or lower in the valley bottom where the RV park is located.
It is very nice, but a bit pricey. It's about six miles from the base of the ski mountain.
There's another, much smaller RV park located about halfway between the resort's RV park and the ski mountain, and it is open in the winter, too. It does not have the amenities of the resort's RV park, and it doesn't have the high prices that the resort charges, either. Just Google "Angel Fire RV Park" to find it. It's called Monte Verde RV Park.
We visited shortly after they opened, a little over a year ago. This is a first class RV park with every amenity and it is priced accordingly. The biggest problem you will have is the drive to get there. Coming up and over the grade from Taos {as is coming down from the north}, is going to be one serious adventure for any rig much over 30' and that's if the roads are clear and dry.... not so much in the winter. Saw lots of large Class A's with toads and big fivers but cannot imagine driving those roads with them. :S
We have friends just down the road who built their {and my}, dream home and were kind enough to put in a nice RV pad complete with water and power. Here is a shot taken from the house, the Elk grazing through their property is a daily event:
Gorgeous country just about any time of year but we have made two trips between late August and early October and found it to be ideal.
