Anyone been to Thousand Trails Mt Hood Village RV Resort?

I've stayed in a cabin there. Too much like a resort for me. I didn't find the grounds to be a "dump" though either.

It was originally designed to be a really big resort. But the original owners ran out of money. Sad really as it was laid out rather interestingly. Last time I was there, most sites were level graveled with full hookups. IMHO not worth the price. Did not know it had become a TT park?

Have you been to the T/T Fairview RV Park on the east side of Portland? Now that place is definitely an RV resort! I've been there twice and hated every minute of it. It's too much of a snobby high-end RV park for me with it's fully paved roads, manicured patches of lawn and all the permanent RV people there staring at you like you are an intruding nobody. Can't even f*rt without getting into trouble. I had a flat tire on the truck there and got in heck for changing it at our site but had no choice.

Our other choice is the T/T in Bend. We were there early last Sept. for 3 nights and we liked it a lot. Very rustic and scenic and things to see and do nearby. Only negative was on the last night it dipped well below freezing and the entire CG froze up solid. It's sure not easy coiling up a frozen hose.

How long do you want to stay and how big is your rig?

Your link does not work. You need to relist it under advanced post. But yes, it is the same place. We used to have half price coupons so we stayed there a lot. It is right off the highway and some sites can be noisy. Also they sold a lot of spots with park models on them. Grqvel roads and sites. At least up on top. Down by the river were paved roads, but last I knew was never finished. Unless your looking for that sort of place IMHO overpriced. If your looking to site see and have a clean park, Columbia River RV park in Troutdale might be a better choice. No swimming pool, and sites can be tight, but for a place to sleep it is convenient. Easy access to I84 for the Columbia river scenic area. Easy access to US26 for MtHood recreation. Not too far from town.

Our TT is 29' overall with a slide on one side only. It's not often we've had a problem with the length of it, but sometimes the longer wheelbase of our truck makes it hard to find a parking spot on the site or nearby. Being able to get a satellite signal if they have an area/sites that works would be nice.

Looking at 1-2 weeks and want to be able to veg out and RELAX and not have to deal with: RVs and vehicles flying by and kicking up dust; speeders; loud music; a race track, train tracks or airport, etc. nearby; off-leash dogs running around; obnoxious non-RV types in rental cabins; and a few other things that can put a damper on anyone's stay at a CG.

Have you considered coming farther east? We will be camp hosting at LaPine state park in June. It is exactly what you describe. But it may be too late for that length of time. Real family park. But still lots to see and do if you want.

Never been to the T/T in Fairview. Only reason we went to the one near Mt. Hood was because we got a Groupon. Those resort places aren't my thing.

We've stayed there a couple times, had full service and we found sites with shade. A little on the expensive side.
