Anyone boondocking Flagstaff week after Labor Day?

Just a wild shot but is anyone planning on boondocking in the area around that time frame? I need to leave my camper for about 7 days while rafting and would feel a bit more comfortable having a neighbor.
I know a guy that would probably let me leave my camper at his place but he let me do that a few years ago and I don't want to wear out my welcome. My other option is to park it at a commercial CG if they give me a cheaper rate. Or I leave the camper at home for the whole trip :(
  • Great that it worked out so easy! Thanks for reporting back.
  • I ended up just leaving my truck and camper at the motel that the rafting has regular arrangements with, while people are on the river.
  • Lee's Ferry, doing the whole canyon (motorized) for the third time.
If you liked the GC, I recommend the Middle Fork of the Salmon.
  • Enjoy your trip. We've done the Canyon trip. It's awesome! Are you starting at Lee's Ferry or hiking down Bright Angel? We did Bright Angel and it was hard-going - even downhill - that last mile. It's soooo steep.

We left our motorhome in a RV park on 89 - don't recall the name. They gave a discount. We didn't plug into electric - just put the refrigerator on propane. If you can find a storage facility that might be cheaper.
  • Based out of Flagstaff and doing the GC. I'll check it out though, thanks
  • I dont know where you will be going rafting but I have a friend that stores his RV at Flintstones Bedrock City which is in Valle at the intersection of H64 and 180. Approximately halfway between Flag and South Rim. He said its cheap, and have hookups as well. And the Grand Canyon Inn across the road has some great food at decent prices.
  • Search the internet for RV storage in Flagstaff AZ and check out the results. Don't know if any of those facilities would be any cheaper than leaving it at a campground though. But I once left my MH in a storage facility in a Chicago suburb while staying with friends at their house.
