Hunting Island is, by far, our favorite. It is not easy to get a site there during spring, summer or fall and that should tell you something.
If you can get a site, our favorite is #64 or any of the sites within the same loop. If those aren't available, our next choice is #91.
During the spring, the weather may be warm enough to lay on the beach or may not, shorts might be fine or you may have to wear pants...it's just a toss-up.
We just don't like to go to the beach where you have to stake out a 5'x5' space to put your blanket down. I want peace and quiet and not lots and lots of people.
The other places are just too crowded for me.
Edisto is our 2nd favorite spot. Myrtle Beach is not even on our radar and someone would have to pay me LOTS of money to go there willingly.
We do enjoy James Island County Park, outside of Charleston and Folly Beach.
