Beer/Baseball park planning

In St. Louis, that's about as close as you are going to get.......as the stadium is right smack in the middle of downtown, where it's hard to park a car much less a motorhome.

Thanks for the confirmation. We do have the droid to drive once the mother-ship is parked but the shuttle they offer is even better. Being from SoCal and used to traffic and distances a decent park anywhere within 15 or 20 miles of the ball parks is acceptable.

The question has been out there for three days and I would have thought someone with local knowledge of the Denver and Milwaukee areas could expand on what I see in Rvpark reviews. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry cannot help with Denver and Milwaukee. Casino Queen is the place to stay in St Louis. Safe and convenient. Carefully follow driving directions. East St Louis does not have a good reputation but casino security is great.

Kansas City is in between but it looks like we will not have a brewery to visit and we know where to stay there.

Can I ask where you stay in Kansas City? It's on my list of possible baseball trips, although that was formulated when the Royals weren't doing that well and tickets were more plentiful.

In Milwaukee check out State Fair Park. I've been there, have heard that it isn't much of a campground, but it is close to Miller Park and Miller Brewery.

Worked in downtown Denver for a week and stayed at http://www.prospectrv.com/. Dirt lot near a nice park and convenient to downtown.

Thanks, you confirm my plans for both Denver and Milwaukee. Both places look like good locations to park for a couple of days. Neither are destination parks but are all I am looking for. As for the Kansas City area I only have experience at one. I stay at Cottonwood RV in Bonner Springs more out of default than anything else. My review from a couple of years ago follows but they were doing road construction at the entrance to the park the last time I was in the area and not staying there so things may improve. If you are looking for space during the two NASCAR races each year you need to book a year in advance.
“Make up your mind what kind of an RV park you are looking for before you book here. If you want a destination park that is pretty with nice grounds and lots for the kids to do, then you better stay away. We wanted a place to park the rig while we spent most of our time with friends and relatives in the area and this was the ideal spot. We wanted big rig access, 50 amp service, a level cement pad and that is what we got. All roads are very dusty gravel with numerous ruts, but at 10 mph they are passable. The turn for the entrance from the main road K-7 is not marked in advanced and at 60 mph you better know where it is or you will not make the turn. Watch out for a very large pothole in the middle of the road just off K-7, it will swallow even a large wheel. The park is well off the main road and close to I-70 but far enough away that the noise is not noticeable even on a warm night with the windows open. The tent only area is much closer to the Interstate and may be affected. There are no R/R tracks nearby which adds to the quiet. My AT&T cell and computer air card worked well to keep in touch. Office hours are strange, closed 2 hours over lunch and on weekends. They will leave a map of the facility with your assigned spot if you have a reservation. An item of importance is a nice storm shelter across from the office. The park was less than 1/3 full in early June during the week we stayed but with a number of long term residents. If you are looking for a lot of nothing this is the place for you.”

There's a really nice COE lake north of town with two nice campgrounds in Smithville. I think it's a great place.

I can't tell you how far it is to the ballpark but despite the distance to downtown there wasn't much traffic.

Thanks, I appreciate the information and now have all I need. With family and friends in the area they took us to a BBQ joint in a converted corner gas station Oklahoma Joe's. The larger and better known places in the Plaza and Kansas Power and Light district come in second to Joe's. Will be there again in about four weeks.
