Best Campground Near Wallops Island/Chincoteague, VA?

Question

Hello All,
We plan to spend a week near Wallops Island/Chincoteague, VA this summer. I've found a number of RV parks in the area we're interested in, and would appreciate some feedback. Tom's Cove, Maddox Family Campground, Pine Grove, and Tall Pines Harbor are nearest where we'd like to be. Any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks!

We have been to Maddox. OK. Nothing special about it & a long way out from rt 13.

Take a look at Shad Landing SP. Been there too. Much nicer. In the trees. Much cooler in the summer. Think we were there when we went to Wallops.

We have gone to a Truck Camper Rally at Tall Pines Harbor every for the past 10 years and think it's a great campground. Rich &amp; Miss IvyBunFest Express II

Maddox is your best bet followed by Tom's Cove. Tall Pines Harbor is  the farthest away, and Pine Grove is usually full with seasonals.Maddox has allegedly been sold, so check availability.

Check out Tall Pines. They are putting in a small waterpark this year.
