Wonderful park, we loved it.
If you want hook ups, I believe Rio Grande Village is your only option. With 10 kids,the group campgrounds might be a option.

We like Rio Grand village right in the park. Parking spots with hook ups are on an asphalt parking lot, but have grass and picnic tables etc just off the asphalt. While it will get you much closer to everything, you will still be doing a lot of driving to take in this vast park.

Is there some sort of resort near there? I feel like I saw that but now I can't find it. Thanks for the tips on Rio Grande. We definitely need hook up with 10 kids.

Just came back from there we stayed at Big bend Adventures but if I had to do it again I would stay in the park at the Rio Grande Village.

Here it is Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas Resort

I haven't stayed there yet but I have driven by it and thought it would be worth trying.

Are you looking for resort type amenities for the kids? The only place that might have any kid amenities would be Maverick Ranch, which is about 15 miles from the western entrance to the park. The only cg inside the park with hook ups is the Rio Grande cg, which is run by a concessionaire. You are too long to camp in the Chisos Basin, limit is 24 or 25 ft.

There are 2 or 3 cg's at Study Butte, but no game rooms, swimming pools, etc, Big Bend is a hiker/mountain biker paradise.

Check out the Big Bend Ranch sp/Barton Warnock visitors center, they have a wonderful exhibit about the Chihauhan Desert.

If you need hookups, I'd suggest Rio Grande Village RV Park. Staying within the Park adds to the experience as BB is so large. Our favorite NP - have fun.

Rio Grande Village campground (no hookups) is accommodating to all RV sizes, as is the Rio Grande Village hookup area. These campgrounds are close to trailheads to wonderful hikes, some short and easy, some more challenging. Great scenery from all of them. Chisos Basin is definitely worth driving to in your TV but definitely not with a long TT. In September it will likely be hot so you will probably want A/C so hookups will be necessary.

The Big Bend area is not a 'resort' area. Some RV parks might have 'resort' in their name but that surely doesn't mean it's truly a resort.

For Big Bend with hookups, stay at Rio Grande Village. It's in a very scenic part of the park with easy hiking right from your RV. There's a small grocery but I'd recommend that you bring all your food with you. This grocery has the bare minimum, would be expensive and there's no guarantee you'd even find milk or break on some days. This is a very remote area. The grocery also has an attached laundry and a shower room.

September will still be warm.

If you stay at Lajitas, it's 43 miles of low speed limit roads to the park headquarters at Panther Junction. You could spend hours each day just commuting.
