Blackwell Horse Camp, Hoosier NF

Blackwell Horse Camp (no-fee) is smack in the middle of the Bedford Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest, not all that far southeast of Bloomington Indiana.

It's accessible to pretty much all vehicles, except maybe in the worst of weather, just a mile up gravel Tower Ridge Road off of (Paved!) Indiana-446

There are no assigned campsites in here but the well maintained camp, with 4 or five vault toilets and a dumpster, is large and, at least during my stay, was lightly used.

For more on my three nights there in August here's a link to my blog entry.
