- EgorKCExplorerFor Kansas City Basswood RV Resort in Platte City is a good option. Nice pool and playground with stocked fishing ponds. Good camp store. 15 minutes from historic Weston MO. 25 minutes from Worlds of fun. The upper loop with sites in the 120's are very long and easy pull thru's. For Branson we stayed at Compton Ridge for years until they were bought by Ocean Properties time share. You can still camp there but the best sites are for time share owners. We now use the KOA and it is very nice. A bit tighter on the spots but close to the strip and it is a very well managed RV park. Pool and playground too.

Not sure, looking to see it all. Explore the area. - 98silvz71ExplorerIf you don't want to stay on the strip there are 2 campgrounds in Branson that we stay at that I like. First there is Stagecoach RV, which is out near Hollister, MO and right across from the State Park Marina and campground. And the other is ABC Campground, it is closer to the city but still out where it is quiet. They both cost about the same, Stagecoach is a little smaller of a campground but just as nice. We have stayed there probably 15 or so nights these last couple of years. I can't remember if ABC has a shuttle but Stagecoach has one that will run you into shows if you want. We like Stagecoach better because we can go walking on the trail from the SP Marina to the dam.

Stagecoach Campground - DutchmenSportExplorerOne of the nicest campground we've been to was at Smithville, MO. We stayed there to visit our daughter who lives in Raytown.

Click here for the Smithville Lake Home Page - janstey58Explorer15m East of KC there is a nice KOA that is kid friendly with a pool on I70.
- Dick_BExplorerSearch for either in the RV Parks section for previous posts.
- jplante4Explorer IIWe stayed at Shenanigans in Branson. Well run, but it's hilly. Next time we'll probably do Lakeside. Shenanigans is closer to the strip, Lakeside closer to downtown.
East of KC is Lee's Summit and we stayed a week at Longview Lake CG. It's a park with a FHU site campground. Beautifully landscaped. - accsysExplorer

In Kansas city Worlds of Fun has a campground that I have been told is nice and it is right at the water park and entertainment park.
We stayed there a couple of years ago and found it to be a very nice RV park - concrete pads and patios with lots of vegetation around but few trees. All the other amenities you could want as well as the Worlds of Fun park itself. It was also very reasonably priced with easy access to the interstate. A couple of pictures of our site can be seen here. - azdryheatExplorerWe only know the Branson Lakeside RV Park. Been going there for 5 years over the 4th of July. Fun place.
