- sl4everExplorerWe'll be there for a week starting on the 27th. Love it clear or stormy.
- BigdogExplorerSpent four days at Ocean City State Park about the second week of November and had over 8 inches of rain winds up to 70 mph while we were there. Went down to the beach the day after the storm and it looked as if there had been a war fought there. Huge holes in the sand, lots of BIG trees washed way up high and places where the dunes fronts were washed away for from 50-100 feet. No toad 'cuz the tow bar pulled out of the front of the Liberty as we left our house. We unhooked what was left and parked the toad and went to the beach anyway.
Pacific Beach state park is on the Olympic peninsula, not SW coast. - rhagfoExplorer III

Heading to Pacific Beach State Park in SW Washington on the 28th through the 2nd of January.
Normally raining & blowing late December. Will be right on the beach (or as close as one wants to get in this weather!)
Many of us in the PNW winterize many times a season, as we tend to four season camp.
We also have reservations for New Years at South Beach SP.
On EDIT:
So I started a post about us PNW campers almost filling a park in winter Link due to interest in the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival the last weekend in Febuary.
Currently the two parks nearest Newport, Beverly Beach and South Beach have reservations for 459 spaces in the two parks out of a total of 606, so yes we like and do camp in the winter. - monkey44Nomad IIWe did a two-week trip along the Oregon coast a couple years ago during some really crazy, windy, rainy storms. AND, we had a ball, fight the weather, yeah - but saw some beautiful coastal views, huge waves banging against the rocks, and got some fantastic photos.
The storms were a bit tough in a truck camper, but we hung in there, and the CG's were half empty so we had those awesome state parks to choose. Despite the weather, we'd do that trip again in a heartbeat, or two, or three. :) :) - cpaulsenExplorerBeen here since Sept.....yeah....had a lot of rain and some wind(5.95 inches of rain yesterday).....and av managed to survive!

Headed for South Beach on the 30th or sooner. Have been at Nahalem Bay in high winds and driving rain good times! - Winter storm time is great when you can find site that has ocean view.
We used to go to one just north of Depoe Bay, which is now gone. Big hotel built on the site of the RV park. - dons2346ExplorerI was. After turkey day, spent a couple of days in Junction City, went to Florence and sat there for 5 days while the wind blew and it rained sideways. Made it to Brookings, sat there for 5 days and experienced the same thing. Beat feet from there to Eureka where we just had a little breeze and rain. Left there and am now suffering sunshine, no wind, no rain and high 60's temps.
