Brialee Campground in CT

I write this as a very upset camper. Due to family issues I had to cancel an upcoming stay at Brialee Family Campground in CT. Their cancellation policy reads "Cancellations require minimum of 2 weeks notice for campsites – no exceptions. Refunds with appropriate notice will receive refund of paid amount less 10% service fee. Cancellations less than the appropriate notice will not receive any refunds." I am ok with no refund but they refuse to credit me $70 for a future stay. This is absolutely incredible...and I will never stay there again. This speaks volumes about the ownership and the campground itself.
  • Policy seems pretty clear- wouldn't credit for a future stay be the same thing as a refund?
  • We stayed at Brialee a couple of years ago when we were heading to Maine. It was an OK campground and the girls enjoyed the fishing and swimming lakes. It was just an overnight.

    From their website:

    POLICIES

Cancellations: Cancellations require minimum of 2 weeks notice for campsites and 30 days notice for rentals – no exceptions. Refunds with appropriate notice will receive refund of paid amount less 10% service fee. Cancellations less than the appropriate notice will not receive any refunds. No swaps. No exceptions. Site Guarantees: We guarantee your requested site 99% of the time.

Seems to me that this is pretty straightforward and there really shouldn't be anything you have to complain about. It says plainly that you will not receive any refunds.

I don't see why you are complaining because this is very clearly stated and there is nothing that says you should be able to switch or get a credit or anything else.
  • Brialee is in the next town over from where I live... I know some people that have camped there, seems to be either a love it or hate it type place.

as far as their policy, yeah I agree, It reads straight forward, I don't think you have a leg to stand on.
