Lower rates always of course as we don't use any of the other amenities and never have anyway. A pool is not missed at all during a simple stay at a CG as there's so many better things to do. Ever hear of swimming in a lake etc at the CG or one nearby? Much better than a little cesspool reeking of stinking chlorine to maybe kill most of the germs brought in.
Our 51st year of RVing now and still all that's wanted is a fairly level reasonable sized dry site (no mud) and a clean bathouse (in case we want to use it) with having 30 amp electric within 50' and just having a decent dump station is perfect for us. A "paved or gravel etc" pad is a plus but not a must. Not buying the site, simply occupying it for a short period and then we'll leave anyway just like all the others. State Parks, COE CG's, National Parks and Forests along with State Forest CG's are great and not over priced and offer real nature surroundings which are the real amenities!!!
NO pool ever, no playground, no water hookups, or sewer needed/wanted/required as all our TC's, trailers, fifth wheels, and MH's always come standard with a freshwater tank, a gray water tank, and a black water tank and they are there to be used and we do! For the trailers, fifth wheels, and MH's if staying on a site for more than a week, we take our 25 gal blue lagoon along incase a tank gets full so we don't have to move the RV. Why do people think the manufacturer's of their RV's put those holding tanks in the RV anyway??? They are there to be USED! Works perfect always!
Really don't need electric hookup either as all our RV's have LED lights, lots of propane for necessities, a large inverter (1500 to 2500 watt) with plenty of battery amps (7 group 31 deepcycles for the 5th wheel, 4 of the same for the trailers, and 3 of the same for the big Lance TC. Add in that we have a 3400 watt built in propane generator on the TC and 60 lbs of propane. Also a Honda EU2000 generator so dry camping is anything but "roughing" it. Diesel truck was ordered with dual alternators and it recharges all batteries real fast if needed. No 2 fine strand copper + and - welder cable connects the dual alternators to the various battery banks. Always like a home on wheels whereever!
A real boy scout is always prepared as it's their very wise motto and makes life so much easier anywhere!
